Medewi Bay Retreat is located 300mtrs from Pekutatan Beach in a small coastal village on the West Coast of Bali. The resorts unique location gives guests a rare insight into true village life. The small village of Yeh Kuning in Pekutatan is approx 1,5 – 2 hours from Seminyak along the Denpasar / Gilimanuk road, the main road from Bali to Java. Medewi Bay Retreat is an hour’s drive from West Bali National Park and Ngurah Rai Airport is a 1,5 – 2 hour drive away.

The drive from Denpasar is picturesque and will take you through a diversity of landscapes from the business districts of Bali, to wide expanses of rice fields, coconut groves, wild ocean views and remote villages. Located on 10,000 sq meters, the resort provides a unique escape for those wishing to unwind, unplug and relax. The surrounding village is quiet and traditional. Take the time to stroll, cycle or bike through neighboring villages and experience the warm smiles and cheery greetings from the locals. Depending on the time of year, you can enjoy traditional bull racing in Negara, every Sunday morning between April and October or you can catch a wave at Medewi’s famous surf beach just a few kilometers away.

There are many opportunities for local touring, such as trekking in nearby hills, scuba diving at Bali’s North, visits to the main fishing port of Negara. Transportation and tour options can be booked whilst in house or in advance.

Each studio or villa features a private balcony/terrace with garden views, living room and dining area, kitchenette/kitchen complete with a minibar and tea/coffee-making facilities. Room service is also available.

The 12 meter free form pool is the perfect place to cool down during the daytime adorned by fragrant frangipani trees.

The Palms Restaurant serves a selection of Western, Indonesian, Balinese, and Indian cuisine.

GUEST ROOMS

The retreat promises of quality, comfort, intriguing culture and peace of mind is for real. Here, you’ll be surrounded by mountains, ocean and coconut plantations while soaking in the sounds of nature on a tropical island. Each studio or villa offers a private balcony/terrace with garden views. Kitchenware, a minibar and tea/coffee-making facilities are provided in the kitchenette/kitchen. Each comes with a living room and dining area.

The guests are treated with a warm and welcoming atmosphere from the staff, which is all from the local village of Pekutatan.

All Bali attractions can be reached from Medewi Bay Retreat on a full day trip such as: shopping tours, adventure tours, Bali Safari Marine Park, white water rafting, Monkey Forest, swim with the dolphins etc etc . All these attractions and activities can be booked at Medewi Bay Retreat reception or through PVB Group reservations before they arrive including airport transport.

Discover Bali – Around Medewi Bay Retreat

On foot or bicycle From your cottage you can make walks or rides from 1 hour till 4 hours. Discover the authentic life of fishermen or farmers at work, the beauty of rice fields, coconut, banana, and cacao plantations along with magnificent sandy beaches, the Indian Ocean on one side and the mountainous equatorial forest on the other. Be overwhelmed by the friendliness of the local people in this unspoiled area of Bali.

Bali’s Lakes

You start your trip at 8.00am, and via Tabanan city go north to Wanasari Butterfly Park, we take you to Jati Luwih Temple and its magnificent view of Bali’s terraced rice fields. At Pacung we will turn left to Bedugul and stop at The Botanical Garden, 5 minutes drive the fruit and vegetable market, again 5 minutes drive the spectacular Lake Beratan with its water temple ULUN DANU. The trip will continue North and turn west after 20 minutes and a breathtaking view of Lake Buyan and Tamblingan on your left, and the ocean on your right. At Mayong we will go south to Pupuan, and bring you back to pour Resort through Bunut Bolong. Cost : Full Day Charter (Fee’s are not included) This garden also offers an activity called “Bali Treetop Adventure Park” The price for this includes: Entrance fee to Bedugul Botanical Garden, 2h30 access to 5 levels of courses and 60 challenges, safety equipment, assistance and support by professional instructors, European safety standards, insurance (for age 7 – 65 years), government taxes. UBUD – Bali’s Art & Culture Centre

A wonderful full day trip will start at 8.00am and via Tabanan City to North Denpasar take you to Stone Carving city Batubulan and Silver city Celuk, followed by Sukawati handicraft and clothing market. Continue via MAS wood carving to UBUD the Art Centre of Bali. This tour will be a good opportunity for you to discover the rich facets of the Balinese Culture. Please enjoy the market with its variety of carving and herbs. A visit to MONKEY FOREST is a possibility at walking distance, or use our driver. We will return to the resort on a different scenic route the Payangan road going South via Sayan Terrace to Mengwi, Taman Ayun, and Tabanan. Optional Follow your journey to Tanah Lot sea Temple to view the beautiful Sunset. Return to our resort approximately 8.00pm Cost : Full Day Charter

UBUD –  Adventure, Culture and Arts

This trip will start at 8.00am and first take you to Taro Elephant Safari Park 25 minutes North of UBUD OR White Water Rafting on the Spectaculer Ayung River. Our driver will drop you at the starting point and will be waiting for you at finishing point. Afterwards continue your day trip into UBUD to absorb the Culture of our Island and The Art Market and shops, a visit to Monkey Forest is a possibility. Return to our resort via Mas, Sukawati, and Celuk.

WEST BALI

A full day trip of West Bali a fine mix of culture and nature. We start at 8.00am and first take you North through a tree “Bunut Bolong” with beautiful views of forested valleys to Pupuan a very scenic route. At Seririt (North Coast) we turn West on Coastal road for a Swim at Gondol Beach, stop at Pulaki Temple, and for lunch, snorkeling, and a relaxed time, in Pemuteran Bay. We will now return to our resort on the South West route with several more places of interest for you to visit. Like The Jayaprana Gravesite, Palasari Cathedral, Pengambengan harbor, Negara City, and Temple Rambut Siwi. Cost: Full Day Charter Start: 8.00am

NATIONAL PAK WEST BALI – Menjangan Island one of our Guests Favorite’s

This small island part of Bali’s National Park offers you one of the best Snorkeling and Diving locations of Bali. From our Resort approx 1,5 hour drive through Negara City towards Gilimanuk Ferry Terminal with nice ocean and mountain views, before the Terminal we turn right and through the National Park. A Perahu will take you to this wonderful island with an Underwater park famous for its great variety of Corals, Sponges, Tropical Reef Fishes and its crystal clear water, where after snorkeling and or diving you have lunch and time to relax. On your way back to the resort we can make several stops of interest, depending on upon the time and your energy. RAMBUT SIWI & PALASARI

This half day tour will first bring you to the holy temple of Rambut Siwi unique located on the beach surrounded by rice fields. Past Negara city, a visit to Pengambengan a fisherman harbor with Buggies boats dating from the Arabic conquest. The next stop will be at Palasari Cathedral a real monumental building. On your way back we can stop at Negara market for some shopping, before returning to our resort. A visit to Bunut Bolong (a road through the tree) with fantastic valley views. Cost: Half day charter
